The Parish of Ewhurst and Ellens Green
Life Events
For many people the Church is part of the biggest events that they will experience during their lifetime; namely Christenings, Marriages and Funerals. We recognise that as well as being joyous occasions they can also be times of deep sadness. If you wish to discuss or arrange one of these events please contact us , or if you prefer come into the Parish Office to discuss in person.
The fees charged for these Life Events are determined by The Church of England and are set out annually in the Table of Parochial Fees.
Christening
During a Christening your child will be Baptised. The promises that Parents and Godparents make at a Christening are big commitments (similar to the vows people make in a wedding). To help you understand what happens in the service, and to ensure you are happy with the promises you will be asked to make, we suggest you meet with our Priest-in-Charge. Christenings are not just for babies; children, teenagers and adults are also warmly welcomed.
For more information about christenings please go to the Church of England Christenings website.

Marriage
Your first step is to come along to one of our Sunday Services and speak to our Priest-in-Charge. This will enable you to get a feel for us and our Church, and also allow you to ask any questions you have. Please contact us as early as possible, before choosing a date or making any other arrangements.
If you live outside the parish you may still be married at St Peter and St Paul if you can demonstrate a 'qualifying connection' with the Church.
For more information about church weddings, please go to the Church of England Wedding website.

Funeral
A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, whether you attend Church or not.
Your first step should be to find a funeral director and tell them that you would like a Christian funeral at St Peter and St Paul, Ewhurst. The funeral director will then co-ordinate dates, and pass your details to us so that we can finalise arrangements with you.
You can find a lot of helpful information, including popular hymns and Bible readings, at the Church of England Funeral website.
