Christ is risen! Alleluya!
A very Happy and Blessed Easter to you all!

Last Sunday , Palm Sunday, Rob led Millie, the donkey, on a walk around the village,
followed by a crowd of happy people singing “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in
the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the Highest”.
Then came Good Friday, and those shouts turned to “Crucify!”, as our Lord was put
to death on the cross, and buried in a sealed tomb.
But today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate the greatest and most glorious event of our
Christian faith - the raising to new life of Jesus Christ! Deserted b y his disciples,
betrayed, arrested and interrogated, beaten and tortured, Jesus died the death of a
common criminal, and by all human reckoning, he and his story and his followers
should have faded away into oblivion.
Instead, what a triumph! When Mary went to the tomb, the stone across the entrance
had already been rolled away. God had already acted, Jesus was alive! Easter is
not the end of the story, it is the beginning. It is the start of God’s new creation.
SO enjoy your Easter eggs – the sign of new life! Let the choc-fest begin! But
remember the real reason for Easter - and give thanks.
